The verdict is in from CBS Sports’ fantasy division Scout, whose formula and computations have churned out Computer Power Rankings and a negative prediction about the 2019-20 Edmonton Oilers, that the team will finish 24th overall in the NHL, projects to get 81 points and has a zero chance of winning the Stanley Cup.
Reports the Scout: “They have a 3.1% chance of getting past the first round of the playoffs.
They have a 0.7% chance of getting past round 2.
If they do manage to beat the odds and advance past round 2, their chances of winning the West is 0.1%.
They are the #24 ranked team in goal differential (based on all teams’ road stats) and the #25 ranked team among home teams.”
The top team, Tampa Bay, is given a 22.6 per cent chance of winning the Cup.
Toronto is next best with a 10.7 per cent chance.
